OIYP Internship Program
Have you just completed or are currently undertaking your studies and are looking for an opportunity to contribute to a well-established international development organisation? OIYP offers up to four internship intakes each year that allow interns to work on an international program based within a major development organisation. OIYP welcomes interns from overseas as well as from Australia. The internship program provides and opportunity to gain a variety of solid skills and knowledge in the areas of social justice and international development.
The internships are voluntary. Those interested in volunteering with OIYP must be able to support themselves financially both in terms of getting to Australia as well as living expenses in country. Volunteers from overseas must also organise their own logistics such as visas, funding, travel and accommodation. Please note that your visa must allow you to do volunteer work in Australia.
There are various internships available for each intake, which run for a minimum of three months in Oxfam Australia offices in Sydney. Interns are expected to be available for between two and four days per week, depending on the role, for a 9am to 5pm working day.
