Country GUYANA
Biography My name David Clarke I am currently an undergraduate student persuing studies in international relations at the University of Guyana. In 2008, eleven high school students and I took place in a project called FACTS, Fashion Arts and Creativity By Talented students, the project is designed to help foster young creative minds and build self esteem it is a project that I now work with. In 2009, at age eighteen, I decided, after my own experiences, that homophobia within families was a major issue, I decided to put my energies into creating change for young LGBT people and came up with the concept now adapted by SASOD ( Society Against Sexual orientiation Discrimination) . I then became one of the youngest member of SASOD, one of Guyana’s leading advocacy groups for LGBT people. One day, I hope that all young people will have equal opportunities and be protected regardless of the colour, race, creed, or sexuality. I also believe strongly in respect, if we respect each other that will give way for us to understand each other, when we understand and appreciate each other we can finally work well together. Respect is something that will most defiantly contribute to a peaceful, equitable and sustainable world,
