Name Hamnah Saeed
Country PAKISTAN
Biography My name is Hamnah Saeed. I am from Pakistan. I am in my final year of undergraduate studies. Being a student of Media Studies I have published many articles in local newspapers regarding equality of rights and education for both men and women. I am also conducting research on sexual exploitation of women in Pakistani films. I have developed the PR campaign of a local organization, which is helping women who have been prone to physical violence. I have collected donations and worked with the marketing department of Depilex Smile Again Foundation for providing medical facilities to women whose bodies and faces have been mutilated by acid and other corrosive elements. These funds enable the affected to go abroad (France) to get surgeries and other medications. At SOS Village I have taught English and Computer Studies to children from grade 5 till grade 8. I arranged a reading week for children at the orphanage, which included different creative activities including reading books, writing and telling stories, painting and playing interactive games. Being an active volunteer of Pink Ribbon and White Ribbon I helped in conducting various seminars at different schools and colleges, collecting statistical data and raising awareness about health and violence issues. In these summer vacations I have volunteered to teach children of The Citizens Foundation- a school for the underprivileged, during the Summer Camp. Recently, I have become a member of Amnesty International.
