    Community Group

I have been thinking about starting up a community group. Im not too sure what it will involve though.

I would love to get a grant or moeny from somewhere to build an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Youth Centre where they have computers, a Tutor who can come in and help the young ones with homework. A chill out area etc. Not so much a drop in centre, But somewhere where our mob can come together, meet one another, do art together, make videos, and bring out there creative talents so they can share with one another. We have always thought about creating an Aboriginal Cultural Centre here in Bankstown. But its about the money. I know I need to get back into the groove of attending the local meetings, because I would still love to be involved in them.

If Only i won the lottery everything would be a little easier to get a start on.

    Good Morning World

Just wanted to update you all about where Im currently at in my life and career.

Ive been through a couple of jobs over the past 6 months.

Im currently working as an Administration Assistant at the University of Western Sydney, The Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education at the Bankstown Campus.

Its a 5 minute walk from my home which is a bonus.

The Badanami Centre is apart of UWS. It is a centre to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people make there transition into University through a number of options.

I am only working hree for another 4 weeks and I am hopeing that It becomes permanant. The Staff are extremley friendly and helpful to the needs of current students or potential students.

I hope that this position becomes permanent so that I can continue my efforts in change within the Aboriginal and Torres STrait Islander communties across Australia. I think with my genuine WANT to help others, I think I would be a great attribute to the Centre.
