Hi, Guys! I'm Ema, an active an fun young people from Yogyakarta, Indonesia. I believe that we, young people, hold a very important rule as agent of peace. Our curiosity, solidarity, creativity, optimism, and spirit of hard working make us easier to accept differences. Young people can also see problems objectively or without prejudice. Being young is a blessing! =))
Unfortunately, people use to think that young people are powerless, voiceless, immature, passive, troublemaker, and less opportunity to speak up. =((
This condition supported me to join a community named Peace Generation. We are a youth community who are commited to work for peace-building, located in Yogyakarta. Together, we held some programs which aim at spreading the peace-spirits towards youth, and give other young people chances to turn their peace-ideas into action.
I hope young people will never lose their spirit to create a peaceful society. As Chistina Aquilera said, “We are beautiful, no matter what they say. Words can’t bring us down.”
